I partnered with EeJayCee, Inc., a digital agency, to develop high quality content such as newsletters, social media content, sales materials, and presentations for clients. Additionally, I wrote bi-weekly blog posts, including the one below, to help inform and empower clients about digital marketing strategies.

Rethink your Marketing with the 3Rs written by Natalie Drugan and Published by EeJayCee, Inc.

The widely known “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” EPA initiative is not only incredibly beneficial to the environment, but it can also make a huge impact on your company.

The 3Rs are particularly effective for coffee-guzzling office kitchens that generate excessive, unnecessary waste. No doubt. BUT, have you thought about how this same green initiative can be applied to your Marketing team?

Similar to the environmental benefits, the 3Rs can help you save money, energy and resources, preserving and protecting your company.

How?

  • Reduce: It’s critical to be laser-focused on reducing costly waste that could threaten your budget or even worse, drain it. And, we all know the Marketing budget is typically always first to go when a company needs more funds. That’s why it is important to continually evaluate how you can be more resourceful by doing things cheaper, faster and more effectively.

Where can you make reductions that are wasting time, money or valuable expertise? Is there an opportunity to reduce costly workloads by outsourcing them to a marketing partner so your team can focus on other revenue-generating initiatives? Do you need to eliminate any projects or programs that are creating more problems than solutions?

  • Reuse: Companies are like machines with a lot of moving parts operating at extremely high speeds; this can lead to overlooked opportunities within a company’s own walls. Don’t forget to take advantage of all your company has to offer by reusing existing materials, resources and even people (employees or business partners) to ensure you are using them to their full extent (i.e., talk to other teams and determine how you can leverage their expertise, partnerships and/or work for your marketing initiatives).

  • Recycle: Rather than tossing out any previously created marketing content or material after its used for its original, intended purpose, find ways to recycle it. For example, if you created a marketing whitepaper as a lead generation tool for your web site, think of other ways to use the same whitepaper. It can be so much more than just a downloadable web document. Recycle it into mini blog posts, a webinar discussion with speakers who can discuss the already vetted topic, a pitch for a speaking engagement and/or a sales conversation-starter and/or sales leave behind.

There’s actually one more R…Rethink! Rethink your marketing initiatives to eliminate costly waste and convert existing, valuable marketing materials into usable content.

AND, don’t forget to toss your coffee cup or printed-paper in the recycling bin!
